This book examines colourism (discrimination based on skin colour  among people of the same ethnicity), from a historical and political perspective and highlights how religion and slavery contributed towards the spread of colourism throughout the African Diaspora. It  traces the origins of colourism and how it evolved in the UK, USA Jamaica and Latin America, and should appeal to anyone with an interest in race and identity.
